Prayer
Prayer, of course, is absolutly essential to any Christian's life. We will not be able to finish this life or our transition succesfully unless we keep an active prayer life. So, here are a list of prayers that I often keep in my life. These offer good prayer rules. Remember, a prayer rule is not absolute. One may ask why we keep such a rule. Wouldn't it be better to pray fluidly and without texts. In response to that, it is good to pray freely and that should be done when one is not doing the prayer rule. The prayer rule is merely a way for us to form our thoughts and direct our mind to proper understanding of God and to teach us obedience.
The Jordanville Prayerbook Online This is an excellent prayerbook and one that I almost always use. Russian Usage OCF Prayerbook Another good prayerbook offered by the Orthodox Christian Fellowship (A Pan-Orthodox National College Group). Prayers are shorter so may be more convient. Cell Rule of 500 of Optina Elders This is a prayerule I often incorperate during the (without the prostrations of course)because I like using the Jesus Prayer throughout. However, I do not at all recommend the website that it's attached to. I believe it offers a fanatic and fringe group form of Orthodoxy with I believe conflicts with true Christianity. Thus use the rescource, but beware of the provider. ;)
